Data export for e-catalogs

BMEcat, ECLASS and more for e-commerce applications and trading partners

One of the most important tasks in digital product communication is the provision of data for online catalogs, shops, external systems, trading partners and portals. For this purpose, in the crossbase database electronic catalogs are created with a customer-specific assortment and a price list. The mapping of fields and content can be individually defined according to format or classification.

Already available formats/portals

  • BMEcat 1.2 and 2005
  • GAEB-XML (portal for architects and planners on ausschreiben.de)
  • DATANORM 4 and 5 and ELDANORM 96
  • nexmart
  • OXOMI
  • EZ-base
  • SABIO
  • Arge New Media with DQR and BMDG
  • Fabory
  • FAB-DIS

Classifications already available

  • ECLASS (Version 5.0 and higher)
  • ETIM (Version 2.0 and higher)
  • ETIM MC
  • UNSPSC (Version 7.0 and higher)

Mapping of any XML formats and classifications

crossbase offers a variety of XML export formats and standard classifications. The most commonly used format is BMEcat, for which there is even a visualization with a web interface. Due to the flexibly configurable structures for XML formats and classifications, an extension with new formats and classifications is possible at any time. Typically, this involves, for example, new classification versions for ECLASS and ETIM, currently the versions ETIM 8.0 and ECLASS 11.0. Or about new formats and classifications such as the formats FAB-DIS and OXOMI or the new classification ETIM MC, especially for the application for BIM.

Classification mapping

crossbase has its own powerful tool for mapping the items into the different classifications, e.g. ETIM, ETIM MC and ECLASS. Users import the relevant sections from the standard classification and assign the items to the corresponding catalog groups. The second step is the mapping to the classification features. Based on this preliminary work, a data export in BMEcat format can be performed, which evaluates the mapping. This means that retail partners receive product content in standardized form according to their customer assortments and prices – at the push of a button.

XML mapping

The assignment of the database fields to the contents of the output format can be defined in the crossbase database for each format, customer-specific or catalog-specific.

Tablet interface

External tablet applications can be synchronized via the tablet interface. To do this, XML data and all modified media files are transferred and the local tablet database is updated.

OXOMI interface

Manufacturer data can be transmitted to dealers via the OXOMI portal. The basis for this is BMECat with ETIM 7. A data format which can be provided quickly and easily with the crossbase solution. The information is transferred to OXOMI via an API interface. The retailer then only has to integrate a script into his online catalog to access the portal data directly.

Excel configurator

With the Excel configurator, any product information can be exported from the crossbase database. The content selection is compiled in easy-to-use dialogs and saved as a configuration. This way, even users with less technical knowledge can configure and execute a possibly extensive export in just a few steps.

Web interface with myXML format

Individual XML formats can be flexibly added to the crossbase database. An export corresponding to the specifications will be derived from defined XML structures for this purpose. The framework already provides many structures for web interfaces, such as oxide.
